The Pet Shop – full length erotic novel (Xcite Erotic Romance Novels) – [Kindle Edition] Currently 99¢

In appreciation for a job well done, STELLA JAMES’s boss sends her a pet, a human pet. The mischievous TINO comes straight from THE PET SHOP complete with a collar, a leash, and an erection. Stella soon discovers the pleasure of keeping Pets, especially this one, is extremely addicting. Obsessed with Tino and with the reclusive philanthropist, VINCENT EVANSTON, who looks like Tino, but couldn’t be more different, Stella is drawn into the secret world of The Pet Shop. As her animal lust awakens, Stella must walk the thin line that separates the business of pleasure from the more dangerous business of the heart or suffer the consequences.

★★★★★

I have been rendered all but speechless after reading this book. I don’t even know where to start.
This book is without a doubt one of the filthiest I’ve ever read. It’s a story about a sub culture within the BDSM world, Pet Play. In this particular story, the two main characters pet play as dogs. There’s the simple part out of the way. Oh and it’s set in England and America and while that is not important. I still just wanted to be sure to point that out to you all.

I didn’t have a clue what to expect when I started reading this book. I had a feeling that it would be very erotic based on the subject matter and I was not disappointed. There is an actual story here and I won’t spoil or ruin it for anyone and it’s actually a good plot, because it helps move the characters and story a long nicely without it being complex.

What I liked the most about it, beyond the filth, were the characters. While I didn’t always connect completely with all of them, at times I didn’t care. What they were doing with each other was far more engrossing and entertaining.

‘Tino, I need you to … I need you to take care of me. Like a good Pet.

Tino seriously wants to fuck. In fact he wants to the fuck the hell out of Stella and whenever the scene had ended I had to take a few time outs because I was left that hot.

‘Your clit’s always a hard little pearl all pushed out and exposed for me, ready for me to play with.’

Sometimes it wasn’t even hot. Sometimes what they wanted to do with each other was so wickedly depraved, that because of the overall arc of the story, you would just go with the flow and not wonder; what the fuck?

And she would take his semen in her mouth, swallow it down to her centre, and perhaps she would rub some of it across her breasts and dabble it on her pulse points and carry his scent as a reminder to anyone who should wonder that she was his, and he had marked her as such.

As I was making my way through the final chapters, I was starting to get that, do I want more of this? feeling. Simple answer, yes I do. I want more Tino and Stella. I want to know what else they are up to. While Pet Play as a general topic for story telling may not be in my wheel house, these two are.

I definitely would recommend reading this if you’ve been maybe thinking about it and since it’s free, it’s definitely worth picking up and putting on your maybe list.  There are a lot of themes frolicking around the book beyond just the pet play, some include MMF / FFMF / Voyeurism and anal play to name but a few.  The original story was three books, but they’ve been nicely packaged into this one story for your reading pleasure.

**SPOILERS** Rules of (Rubbish) Harte – Brooke Harris

Mother loving, love nuggets, I can NOT express to everyone how much I DID not like this book. I didn’t just like it a little bit. I think I actually hate it.  In fact, had I not been a part of a reading challenge it would have gone into my Did Not Finish that Shit pile.

Rules of Harte (Harte Series #1) – [kindle edition] FREE

Eva doesn’t want him, but she needs him. Julian doesn’t need anyone, but he wants her.

Evangeline Andrews is sassy and feisty, or at least she was – before; before she left New Jersey. She’s a different person in Dublin, and she’s trying hard to be normal here. But the office bitch, her nymphomaniac best friend, and the nice-guy-she’s-just-not-sure-about all threaten to complicate things. The social event of the year is looming. Everyone who’s anyone in the office will be at the masquerade ball. And Eva is invited, well instructed, to attend by her mysterious boss – or else! But she can’t go alone.

Julian Harte is a rich, powerful, Irish alpha with a fascination for games. He’s used to getting what he wants, at all costs. When Julian offers his services as an escort, Eva is about to learn the game is complicated and he doesn’t do losing. Will Eva’s thick skin be enough to protect her when all the masks come down, or is she about to learn she’s not the only one wearing more than one mask?

Let the games begin…

★★☆☆☆

I picked this up because

  1. It was free
  2. I liked the synopsis
  3. I liked the cover

I am extremely glad that I did not waste money buying this book, because 99¢ is still too much for this book.

So why didn’t I like it, let me count the ways; first and foremost it’s about 187 pages too LONG, it was poorly written, I don’t even know what was up with the formatting. It was just littered with errors

His warm breath feel on her chest…

And what, please tell me what, is erotic or sexy about this statement?

She could feel her wet trickle out and dribble down her legs

Dribbling?  Really dribbling, like drool from a baby.   And this didn’t just happen once.  Oh no, she dribbled quite a few times.

…the anticipation of his wet tongue on her nipples sent a pool of wet dribbling out of her.

Please note, things that are dribbling out of ones vagina tend to be a result of some sort of medical issue that needs to be looked into immediately.

Now the story appeared to have an interesting concept, but it was so poorly executed. I would have been more interested in reading the characters interpretation of paint drying than knowing how their sex played out or what feelings/emotions they were experiencing.

And speaking of emotions, my goodness I have NEVER read someone who is so consistently, inconsistent with the way that she feels. She’s virtually bi-polar the entire fucking time. I just couldn’t stand it.

She knew she was just a project to him

but hold I’m so confused, 5 seconds ago you were really into him, so what is it Eva!? Make up your mother fucking mind.  Have a thought and follow it through.  Quit vacillating between wanting to feel and not wanting to feel, cause your fucking yoyo of emotions is making my head hurt.  And Harte… forget it. I just can’t even go there.  Was he supposed to be an Alpha, I know the description says he is, but really he’s just a major fucking douche bag.  Was he really trying to help her?  What exactly was he trying to “free” her from, because she ended up being a hot fucking mess anyway.

Oh and for the first time ever if I had to hear about his damn

…huge cock filling her

I think I would have thrown my poor kindle on the ground, thrown my hands up and had a fuck it moment.

I’m sorry, I just didn’t like this story at all. Not in the least. Oh and if you’re wondering why it got two stars. Because there is ONE bold move in the book. ONE and I’ve never read it played out. That scene alone warrants two stars. But only that alone. Oh and Shelly, cause she is funny.

I can’t actively recommend this book, you’re on your own if you get this.  The only and may be the only redeeming factor was the copious (unemotional) sex they were having.

Next Up Reads #Goodreads

After reading something like Veiled Innocence I like my next couple of stories to be mindless fucking reads.

So here… my next set of mindless fuck, yes, plain simple, fuck reads. That’s a little distasteful, I’m aware, but I need as little emotion as possible. A cleansing of the palate if you will.

Pleasure (School of Sex) [Free at Amazon currently] – CM Deveraux

He’s trying to kill me.
He’s going to kill me.
And there’s nothing I can do to stop him.

Ten years.

Ten long years enduring her husband’s I’m-staying-late-at-the-office-honey-but-I’m-really-not bootie calls, and Sasha Chase is finished playing a naïve, little housewife. The marriage is over. For her. The only problem? It’s far from over for Damon.

On the day Damon is served with divorce papers by Sasha’s hunky, ginger-haired lawyer Gideon O’Shea, Sasha knows better than to let Damon inside her house, but he sounds so desperate and broken, sobbing outside her door like a neglected child. In a moment of forgiveness, she unbolts the door, letting him in.

What’s the worst that can happen?

This is Part two in a series, but can be read as a standalone, though recommended (of course) that the entire series be read. I’m just going to read this though. Today, I don’t care!

Following that…

The Elusive “O” – Renee Rose [also free at Amazon for Kindle]

When her co-worker Josh notices the odd look on her face after someone casually uses the word “spank,” he has an idea of just what might turn her on. On a business trip to Vancouver, the two find it easy to carve out a little time to sneak away and experiment in Josh’s hotel room. Has Molly finally found the partner who can make all her fantasies come true?

Get your VIP [Kindle Edition] for FREE – M. Robinson

I’m going to recommend a book here that is currently free.  I ask that when you read it, you do so with an open and patient mind.

This is a story that puts the term slow and steady to the test, I so many times wanted to put it down, but once it got where it needed to be, I couldn’t complain and I actually contemplated wether or not I would be able to read it again.  Thinking about it, I would honestly say that I probably would.    Once the story began to pick up, it really did so with gusto, as though it was appreciative of you sticking around.

It’s a really well written and well executed story and I would love to know that there would be more from the two main characters.

M. Robinson is releasing a spin-off story later in the year, that will focus on one of the supporting characters within the book. I already have it on my pre-order list.

VIP [Kindle Edition] – M. Robinson

UPDATE: Newly Edited Version has been uploaded on March 23, 2014.

The beginning: A point in time or space where something starts.

32-year-old Sebastian Vanwell, a very successful yacht broker, always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious yacht. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving childhood with a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life: the one person who he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession. That was, until he saw her.

Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn’t control no matter how hard he tried. Coming from worlds apart beautiful, dark, complected Ysabelle didn’t have the rich, protected background that Sebastian had. She had lived a life of hell, growing up in poverty and horrific living conditions with a drug-addict mother who never cared. Ysabelle now lived for one person, and one person only: herself. She was pure perfection. Her beauty, along with a flawless body, had men lined up and driveling over her- ensuring her success as a VIP.

There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.

Warning sex/drugs/language. Mature readers only.
