Playing the Game (Neighborly Affection) – [Kindle Edition] $3.03

Neighborly Affection, #1
She expects dinner with neighbors, but gets sex with a side of safewords.

Mechanical engineer Alice still drools over her sexy neighbors a year after she’s moved in. She can’t decide whether they’re roommates or partners, but either way, they spark a wanton desire in her that has her imagination–and vibrator–working overtime.

Henry, director of everything around him, studies human nature and applies philosophies to his paintings as well as his relationships. Quirky, polite to a fault, and formal, he follows his own code of honor even when it means denying himself.

Flirtatious and playful, Jay needs stability, guidance, and to please others. His antics counterbalance Henry’s stuffy ways while he brings a level of vulnerability and fun to everything the trio does.

BDSM play with the enigmatic artist and flirtatious joker across the hall allows Alice to put aside the linear thought processes which have kept her unsatisfied and distant with other lovers. She must dismiss her preconception of love, sacrificing her independence, if she’s to find a permanent place in their beds and hearts.

CONTENT WARNING: Explicit sex, graphic language, BDSM, bondage, spanking, M/M/F menage.

Ugh, I don’t know if I want to keep reading this story arc, even though I want to know how the relationship between these characters play out. The problem is here is that Henry really kinda ruined this story for me. It’s a shame, because I think that I would have liked it tons more if the tone of his voice wasn’t so annoying.

“But Alice herself is a delicate creature, a wondrous harmony of elements. Her pleasure depends on optimum timing, more so than ours, my boy.”

Henry is the alpha mature male, to both Alice and Jay and really that sounds great, until he opens his mouth and starts referring to Jay as ““Good boy” or “my boy” and Alice as “dear girl”. It wasn’t as though he would do it rarely either, it was all the time. He’s general way of instructing and speaking to them both was really out-of-place with the other characters. It was as though he came from Victorian, England. He’s a man out of his time.

Also the constant repetition of her safety, security and the incessant repeating of her safe-word;  We get it!!  In the real world, I understand the importance of affirmation.  In my fiction though, I don’t need to be repeatedly told something that I got the first 3 times you told me.  Just thinking about it is making me angry.

I don’t know and seriously doubt if I will spend the almost $8 finishing out this story. I know that I might end up throwing my kindle because if I have to hear Henry’s “voice” one more grating time. Maybe it would be safer for me to read another time.  Maybe it’s a mood type of story.

I will say that the scenes were pretty good, but I have to go back to the whole Henry thing, ugh, Henry!! You really ruined it for me.

I don’t have any complaints when it comes to Alice and Jay.  They had great chemistry really playing off each other well.  Admittedly the way that they are written they definitely need a third.  Someone to guide them through their submission and need for one another.  Had that man not been Henry, I would be begging to read more. Sadly, I don’t feel that way.

If you read this book, do so with caution.  Yes it has some steamy threesome scenese and really nicely laid out fantasies and I do honestly think that the series is going to get better (based on the developing relationship), but until I get passed my distaste of Henry, I doubt you’ll be getting a review out of me anytime soon.

Members Only – Books 1 & 2 #reviews

So it’s been a little busy these last few weeks and I haven’t had time to post as much as I would like.  That doesn’t mean that I’ve stopped reading.  I have been, albeit slowly .  The pace was a little slow the past week due to an out of town vacation, but I’m back at it in full force as of yesterday evening!

I recently completed, the below books. Both have heavy BDSM themes along with romance with ménage themes.

Together in Cyn: 1 (Members Only) -$6.75 [kindle edition]
Members Only, Book One – MFM
She knows it’s wrong. Cyn shouldn’t have feelings for fraternal twins Jared and Chris, her best friends. She shouldn’t want them to tie her up or strap her down, to take her one at a time—or together. The only way to control her taboo desires is to write them down and lock them away in her diary. Guys like Jared and Chris could never be interested in someone like her, or in the kind of sex she craves.
But Jared and Chris have read her diary, and sweet little Cyn is in for the shock of her life. The brothers not only own a members-only BDSM club, they want her. Need her. And now, with their unlimited funds and an entire establishment devoted to fulfilling her darkest pleasures, they’re going to claim Cyn for their own.
Inside Scoop: If you have a kink, this book probably has it too. If you like your ménage romances extra hot with a side of male-male romance, spanking, voyeurism and girl-on-girl action, come and get it.
A Romantica® BDSM erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

This is truly a smutty read from beginning to end. Thoroughly enjoyable. I like these stories published Ellora’s Cave. Each one that I’ve read has been really well written and the story just comes together nicely.
This story was really well paced throughout and while the concept of two brothers being with the same woman at the same time, is a little lost on me. I just really liked it.
Initially I was worried that both brothers were going to be similar in personality, but towards the end there are differences that are made evident, which I really liked. I would have struggled if they had essentially been the same person in the end.  Overall this was a nice surprise.

Haleigh’s Ink: 2 (Members Only) – $5.75 [kindle edition]
Members Only, Book Two – MMF
“Haleigh’s Ink.”

A three-letter word that meant different things to many people. Pictures and words that might stand as a reminder of love, loss, rebellion, or camaraderie. For Haleigh Grace, it meant freedom.
Walking through the doors of the tattoo parlor, Inkfluence, marked the start of taking her life back. Making it what she wanted it to be. No one was going to tell her she couldn’t. Not ever again.

Little did she know that behind those doors stood Kyle Muse. He’d been her best friend, who had walked away years ago without a backwards glance. The one man she fantasized would someday be her knight in shining armor. The one she’d saved herself for.

But he has a knight of his own. Tall, dark and dangerously sexy Scott Preston. The owner of the very shop Haleigh has an appointment with at midnight.

Feelings long-buried rise to the surface and the three find themselves bound by more than just ink…

A Romantica® ménage BDSM erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

Now this story, I didn’t care for too much. I don’t know what it was about it, but I was actually a little bored with it. I don’t know what it was about it, but I just could not get into it. Not to say that this isn’t filthy as fuck, because it is. For that alone, I would consider it a decent one-handed read. Beyond that though, something about the story just didn’t work for me. It was a shame too because I was really looking forward to reading it when I purchased it. Maybe I shouldn’t have waited so long between the time of purchase to actual reading.
I liked one of the lead characters (Scott), but I think that it was Kyle that I had the biggest issue with. He just really annoyed me, the entire time. He seemed useless even when he wasn’t supposed to be. Had he been a stronger character, I think that I would have been more interested. Maybe.

There are a couple of other stories in the series, but I think that I am done with Member’s Only.  I doubt though, that these will be the last Ellora’s Cave books that I read. Yeah, I didn’t like Haleigh’s Ink, but I did like what it offered me.  And this certainly won’t be the last Jennifer Kacey book that I read.  She can write a filthy scene like nothing I’ve read before (well, that may not be completely true, but damn).

Love, Sex, Repeat – Alessandra Torre

Sex Love Repeat

I love two men. I screw two men. I am in a relationship with them both, and they are both aware there is another. That is all they need to know, that is all I let them know. They don’t need to know a name; they don’t need to know anything but that they are not alone in my heart.

They have accepted the situation. Stewart, because his life is too busy for the sort of obligations that are required in a relationship. Paul, because he loves me too much to tell me no. And because my sexual appetite is such that one man has trouble keeping up.

So we exist, two parallel relationships, each running their own course, with no need for intersection or conflict. It works for us, for them, and for me. I don’t expect it to be a long-term situation. I know there is an expiration date on the easy perfection of our lives.

I should have paid more attention, should have looked around and noticed the woman who watched it all. She sat in the background and waited, tried to figure me out. Saw my two relationships, the love between us, and the moment that it all fell apart.

She hates me.
I don’t even know she exists.
She loves them. I love them.
And they love me.

EVERYTHING else hangs in the balance

This will be the second book that I have read by Alessandra Torre and I must tell you, she does not disappoint.  She can weave words together like I imagine Rumpelstiltskin weaved gold.  There is always a lot going on when she writes.  I don’t know how she does it, but holy crap, she did it again.

I had this on my list of must reads and recently bought it because it was on sale (ends today: 4/27 ! for $0.99 at Amazon).  Having read The Innocence Trilogy (have you read that, you really should. It’s fucking amazing).  I already knew what the writing style would be and I knew what to expect in the bedroom (kinda, sorta, if you know what I mean).  I wasn’t disappointed.  Actually as I am writing about this, I’m still reeling from my feelings.  I love that.  I love when a book just effects me.  It makes me not want to pick up another book for just a few minutes while I absorb what happened.

…If you like a good smutty read, I need you to read this book.  I’m not going to spoil it in anyway.  I can’t do it to you, I won’t do it to you.  I have numerous thoughts and feeling rolling around in me and it’s hard to talk about them with just giving away so much story.  I’ll do this though, I’ll through some of my feelings while reading the book.

First and foremost, wow.  I wish I had the energy for that much sex.  I mean seriously.  I do.  I was actually a little tired for Madison.  At times I wanted to make sure that she was rested for the next pounding coming her way, because let me tell you, it wasn’t going to be long until the next one.  I mean I know that this is fiction… but wow.  Just… Just wow.

Then there was the whole;  oh man, where the hell is this going?  How are we going to tie a ribbon on this. For all intense and purposes this is a short read.  I don’t know how were going to get from A and make it all the way to Z, there’s no way!   Oh, wait… there it is.  It kind of smacks you in the face.  I actually had to put my kindle down for a second because the “no fucking way” hit me and I didn’t even see it coming.

Then as we’re making our way through the final act, it has you by the proverbial balls, because there is no way that you’re going to stop, because you just have to know how the fuck it’s going to end.  To know what this all amounts to.   I’m actually sitting here still wondering.

I’ll tell you this though, Alessandra Torre has this amazing ability to make situations that are typically uncomfortable and unconventional, just that.  Like, what would be so terrible about sleeping with two different guys?  What would be so bad about having the kind arrangement that she has going on with these guys.  They both know.  I felt this way when I read The Innocence Trilogy and she has some other books, that I get the feeling will have me equally hooked and equally wondering, so what?  It doesn’t sound like it would be that terrible a predicament to be in.

Now before I leave let’s do a little character run down so you know what you’re getting into.

Madison – carefree, fun.  Completely honest with herself overtly sexual and just an all around good time girl. Seriously, I liked her a lot.  Can we get more of her please?a  I love reading from the eyes of a woman who knows what she’s all about.  she owns it and doesn’t feel like she has to apologize or make excuses for who she is.

Paul – he’s a sweet surfer dude.  I’ve got nothing else.

Stewart – This is all you need to know

…I want it, Madison.  I want him to fuck you in the powder room while I sit here with these stuffed shirts.  I want you to come back to this table with your cheeks flushed and his cum inside of you

Dana – You have to read the book….

and you can get it from Amazon
