☞ **Ella James is back with another Erotic Fairy Tale: Beast!!** ☜

I’m so excited about this series and now that it’s here I think that everyone should give book one a read.  The first book was utterly outstanding!  I didn’t think that I was going to like Richardo/Cal/Beast or whatever he is going by.  The fact of the matter is that he is so good at being bad.  The ante is definitely upped towards the end of part 1, so be patient if you’re wondering what the fuck is going on.  I’m hoping to get to book two within the next day or so and then we have to wait over a little under two weeks for the third installment.

Below are the links to the Amazon page where you can purchase the books.  Do yourself a favor and get them now! Book 3 is also available for pre-order. So do it!

★★★✩✩ Submissives Caught on Camera (BDSM Romance) – J.R. Luxor

Submissives Caught on Camera (BDSM Romance Book 3) – [kindle edition] $2.99

Submissives Caught on Camera, by J.R. Luxor, follows the lives of four couples in the San Francisco Bay Area who practice BDSM in their sex lives; sometimes, to varying degrees, with each other. This is the third of a series, beginning with BDSM Romance, How One Man Recruited and Trained a sub, and then Wearing His Collar, the View from Below. In Camera, the four couples decide to make a documentary video of one of their events, their sex parties. Not all of the woman of the four has sex with men other than her partner. The couples have different arrangements for their sexual interactions with others.
In BDSM Romance, one of the men, John, met and formed a mated pair with Curi. John challenged Curi to look inside herself to see if she was a masochistic submissive personality. She accepted his challenge and took the leap. She found that she loved it as nothing before and never wanted to go back to the surface world. In Wearing His Collar, the readers learned how the sexual dynamics of the group evolve when Curi joins them. John and Curi enjoy role playing with BDSM skits in private at home, and then branch out to watch the other couples perform scenes for the group, and Curi finds she enjoys being watched when her turn comes to do a skit for them with John.
In Camera, we’re introduced to Bridget, who is hired to shoot, direct, produce and edit their movie. Bridget is a unicorn, a female whose “thing” is threesomes with couples, either husbands and their wives or guys and steady girlfriends. Bridget refuses the group’s multiple invitations to play with them sexually, in spite of liking them as she gets to know them, because of her business ethic of not having sex with current clients. Her professionalism keeps her at arms’ length from her new friends, but the video product she produces memorializes profound observations not just about these eight individuals, but the practice of BDSM sex with multiple partners as a hobby. Curi continues the evolve in her search for her sexual dynamic niche as her BDSM role playing with John in skits for the others begins to overlap with the performance of another couple in their circle. Curi is surprised by what she discovers about herself as she finds a BFF in Lily, the collared sub of John’s friend, Michael. The evolution of Curi continues, effecting the lives and arrangements of everyone around her.

This is the first time that an author reached out to me and asked me to read a book to provide a review. It’s quite an interesting experience, I must say. I will also say that I’m rather glad that the author did reach out, because this was a good book. It wasn’t perfect, but I liked the concept and it really made me wonder how much experience the author has with this lifestyle. It was very naturally written.

But before I begin with how much I did like it, I have to get a little into some of the things that hindered me from really liking this. This story starts in the middle of a series, no problem, except I haven’t read the other books, so I felt a little lost trying to connect with characters that I had no back story to. Had I had that background, I certainly would have enjoyed them more, rather I was left feeling as though there was more going on than I understood.

There was also times when the story felt a little disjointed, transitions from scene to scene wasn’t always clear, though the scenes themselves were well laid out. If this had been fleshed out more, this would have been better. Instead, we’re moving from past to present memories with no clear indication that a transition has been made. It was frustrating and confusing at times.

What’s weird though, is that I just really liked this over all. I could actually forgive some of the editing because I was invested in the scenes. I love reading about BDSM and this felt authentic. Like the writer wasn’t trying too hard. Scenes are described naturally and they aren’t over the top, even though the “play” sequences are. If that makes sense. I felt like the Circle of Rope group, was as an actual group of people who routinely get together. I guess what I’m saying here is that this read more like a journal entry/memoir than a work of fiction. The scenes are filthy and the author has a natural affinity to write about non-consensual play which makes me wonder how much experience the author has with it. Wouldn’t I love to know?! Wink wink.

I’d really like to see the story developed more and slowed down. This could be a solid 4 stars, but right now it gets a 2.5-3.

I don’t think that I have read a story by S.L Scott, but it sounded like an interesting story… anything that tells me it’s not for the faint of heart grabs my interest immediately!

Scorned (From the Inside Out Book 1) – [kindle edition] .99¢

PART 1 of the From the Inside Out serial by New York Times Bestselling Author S. L. Scott. Jealousy, Part 2, releases September 8th.

We shared a love that regulated every heartbeat and every breath we took. It was all encompassing. I thought our love could withstand time and anything thrown our way.

I was wrong. So wrong.

I used to be happy. I used to be Juliette Weston when Dylan Somers filled my life with promises of love and a happy ever after. But when he took my heart and broke it into a million pieces, I became someone else entirely. In one afternoon, I lost my soul mate. I lost everything I knew myself to be.

Three years later, the man who destroyed me is back.

To assuage his guilt? To finish the job? It doesn’t matter… I won’t let him this time. I’m stronger. I’ve moved on. He won’t affect me.

This is a story of love and betrayal. Pain and loss. Happiness and fate. It’s about finding your true destiny.

This is our story.

And it’s not for the faint of heart.

[Shifter Romance] Unleashed Temptation – Savannah Stuart #bookreview #book #review

Unleashed Temptation (Miami Scorcher, Book One) – [kindle edition] $1.25

After finding out her boyfriend has been cheating on her with her boss, Carly decides her life needs a makeover. She trades in her winter coat for a bikini and heads south to Miami, Florida. Almost as soon as she arrives, she falls in lust with the sexiest man she’s ever laid eyes on.

Too bad he’s her new boss.Alpha werewolf Nick gave up hope of finding his mate a century ago. When sexy redhead Carly comes to work for him, she disrupts his entire world. Although he desperately wants to come clean about what he is, he keeps running into problems. Like the fact that an ancient enemy has set his sights on Carly. Nick discovers he’ll go to any lengths to keep her safe. Even if it means losing her in the process.

This was my first shifter story and it wasn’t bad. I would like to read more in the series, but I don’t know if I’ll part with $4 to read stories that are less than 150 pages long. I mean it’s good. It’s not quite $4 good. And not all of them are around that price either, they are all different prices. I hope that one day they will turn up on Kindle Unlimited. If that happens, I will most definitely finish out the series.

Anyway, this was a good story. It moved at a good pace, probably a good “intro” to shifter’s. There’s more sex than anything, so that worked for me, since this is not a genre that I am interested in at all. Nick is ridiculous horny, fine and Carly is more than happy to go along for the ride.

“Am I hurting you?” he whispered. In response, she shifted her hips, thrust up and completely impaled herself on him. Then she locked her ankles around his waist and held firm. “I’m not going to break, Nick.”

My only “complaint” and really this applies to all books that really like to drill this message home, was the incessant need to remind me how big his dick is. He’s apparently so hung he could beat Carly. I’m surprised, she was often able to make it out alive

His cock jerked under her scrutiny. It felt like a heavy club between his legs and she was the only woman who could relieve him

I’m Glad that I did read it though because it was a nice change of pace. It was fairly humorous in parts

…you took off your clothes once you got back and decided to go out in my grandmother’s backyard, naked?” Nick froze with his hand in the bagel box and met her gaze. “Shit. I didn’t think about that.”

But unfortunately I kept thinking about Twilight the entire time. While there are no similarities, it’s always the first thing that I think of when it comes to werewolves.

Would I recommend this book, probably? Like I said, it was pretty good, I’m just not feeling the entire genre as a whole (at least not at the moment).

Taming of the Prude – Esmae Browder

The Taming of the Prude: Book 3 in the Naughty Shakespeare Series – [kindle edition] .99¢
Some marriages begin with mutual trust and admiration. And some…well, some begin with the promise of a dowry and the taming of a wife. When saucy, headstrong Kate discovers that the man she’s just seduced in the courtyard is to be her future husband Petruchio, she is furious and vows to make sure that he never receives the dowry her father has promised him if he tames her! Instead, Kate begins a campaign to tame him and her methods are a little more adventurous than his. Unafraid of her sexuality, Petruchio’s wife uses all sort of devices to make sure he knows exactly who the boss is in their marriage is. But can they fight the sparks of love that threaten to tear their strong willed natures a part? And just who is taming who?

This fun, fast paced erotic tale based on Shakespeare’s comedy The Taming of the Shrew is the third book in Esmae Browder’s Naughty Shakespeare series.

Taming of the Prude is an erotic retelling of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, or if you’ve seen the movie; Kiss Me Kate. I’ve seen the movie, albeit years ago, and I’ve never read the play. I’m going to have to remedy that because this retelling while a very extreme version of the story, it reminded me how funny this story actually is.

Since I only had a general idea of what the story was about, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect out of this story. I guess I should say too that when I read any novella of this type, you never really know what you’re getting yourself into.

One thing this story absolutely is, is filthy. Great right?! That’s what we’re all here. Some short and sweet smut! So why didn’t I just love this story? I think it just overall wasn’t my cup of tea. The relationship between Kate and Tru isn’t so much Tru taming Kate as it is an expedition of sexual self-discovery for both characters. Not that, that is a problem, I guess I was thinking that it would closer to the original retelling, again I need to re-read the play.  I just wish that there had been more active taming, maybe in the vain of BDSM. That would have been great. As it is, there are some threesomes and some very hot scenes, of the one handed read variety. If that’s how you like your books, then I would highly recommend this story to you.   I wouldn’t recommend this as a love story in the least bit, but definitely a fun romp.

This book is part of a three series set and at the very end the author eludes to more coming. I kind of hope so, because I may be tempted to pick another one up.

Blind Date – Selena Kitt #BookReview #Review

Blind Date – [kindle edition] $4.99
In her attempt to escape her sisters’ Valentine matchmaking, Annie meets the enigmatic Eric, who she realizes could finally be the man of her dreams. In spite of, or maybe because of, Eric’s cryptic words and puzzling behavior, she finds herself immediately intrigued and drawn to him like no other man she’s ever met. One night in Annie’s sister’s kitchen seals their fate, as the two lovers discover and explore the instant spark of heat between them. Their evening comes to an abrupt end when the mysterious Eric disappears into the night, and Annie realizes she doesn’t know his last name! How is she to find him?

After months of fruitless searching, Annie finally gets a dubious break when she meets Eric’s eccentric mother. Dita sends Annie on a journey deep into the unknown, through an ever-twisting labyrinth of frustrating dead-ends and seemingly strange, pointless missions. Annie’s life is turned upside down as she searches for the one man who can make her life feel complete.

Told in the spirit of magical realism, this modern day adaptation of the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche takes Annie on each of Psyche’s tasks in her quest for her lost love. Each task brings her closer to him and to realizations about herself. Will Annie find Eric and reveal to him the secret she’s been keeping, even from her sisters?

Warnings: This title contains erotic situations and graphic language – a fun, modern day magical-realism retelling of the Psyche and Eros myth that will leave you mythtified yet satisfied!

I’ll start by saying that the front cover doesn’t do the book any justice. In fact, I can’t stand that cover at all. So why did I pick it up? I read it for a book challenge. Otherwise, other than that fact that it’s written by Selena Kitt, who I have to tell is a great smut writer, I doubt that I would have picked up this book at all. And quite honestly I would have been wrong to.
The story is a retelling of Psyche and Cupid. You know the one, Cupid tells Psyche that each time they meet they can never do so by the light of day. She ends up defying him, he leaves her promising never to return. She in all her love of him, turns to his mother Venus, a few challenge ensues and true love is reunited once more.
It’s a pretty simplified retelling of the story which is why I think that it works so well. The initial encounter between Eric and Alice leave left me craving more immediately. It was the perfect amount of heat. The one-handed read that I wanted to re-read several times over.
And then the characters; Alice doesn’t have a meek, pushover personality and it makes her enjoyable to follow along as she wanders through her challenges. She’s often funny and has very natural reactions even when the situation is completely unnatural.
My only disappointment with Eric was that there just wasn’t enough of him. He plays an important role in the beginning and then is missing, though spoke on a great deal in the middle, and bam he’s back at the end. I wonder if the story had been longer if we would have had more of him. But alas. There are several other characters who make (important) appearances in the story, Dita, Eric’s mum; I would have loved an expanded version of her, Gabriel and the odd other character whose name has escaped me at this time.
Overall, I would recommend this story. It’s short, lots of fun and really a good dirty little read.

Sizzle at Sea – Wynter Daniels

Sizzle at Sea (Long and Hard, Book One) – [Kindle Edition] Currently FREE
All heiress Kara Mikos wants is a vacation cruise and a hot shipboard fling. When her father phones to say there is a plot to kidnap her, she brushes it off as another of his many attempts to control her life.Private security expert Harper Long doesn’t mean to fall for his client’s sexy daughter but what better way to keep her close enough to protect? Granting his libido free rein comes with a price, though—a treasure he’s not willing to lose.

I got this for one singular reason. Okay, well maybe two, but I specifically remember getting it because it’s from Ellora’s Cave and I really like the stories that they publish. At least, I do so far.

This is another one of their little gems. At a mere 79 pages this is the story of two people on a cruise ship unwittingly finding love. His job is to protect her, her goal is to be enjoy a private vacation alone, away from her father’s watchful eye. What ensues, is a romantic encounter, an attempted kidnapping/murder and a lovely amount of hot sizzling, steamy sex.

The story moves a long consistently and you never feel as though it’s dragging. Really at 79 pages, you don’t have much time for that anyway. There were times where the constant insecurities being drummed into you over and over again got a little tedious, but by the time you get to the end you really don’t care. There’s really not much time for character development, which of course what do you expect. Had the story been longer, it definitely would have demanded more fleshing out. Kara’s relationship with her father, was actually interesting enough that I would like to have read more. The father is drummed into you so much that you want to hear more about him. Harper Long, is himself a pretty interesting guy, he just doesn’t get enough time to become more. Again, the disadvantage of a short story.

It’s currently free on Amazon (for Kindle) and I would really recommend it if you need a super quick read.
